Cervical cancer is usually caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus (HPV). It’s a very common virus with lots of different strains and most are harmless.

These young people who were all supported by Teenage Cancer Trust have shared their cervical cancer stories, in their own words.

They hope that by sharing their cervical cancer stories they can help show people what it’s like to have cervical cancer when you’re young and reassure other young people facing cancer that they are not alone.
