The review includes a series of recommendations (16), which Teenage Cancer Trust fed into. The recommendations are designed to improve the experiences and outcomes of young people with cancer.

Amy Harding, Director of Services and Impact at Teenage Cancer Trust says:

“You only get one chance at being young, and those few crucial years will shape the person you become – your relationships and career, your confidence and wellbeing, and your ability to pursue your dreams. Cancer can throw all of that off track.

“Teenage Cancer Trust welcomes the publication / launch of the Northern Ireland Department of Health’s review of Teenage and Young Adult cancer services as it seeks to improve the experiences and outcomes of young people with cancer in Northern Ireland. As a supporter and funder of TYA services in Northern Ireland, we look forward to working with the Department of Health on these recommendations.

“We are determined young people with cancer receive the specialist care and support that they need, therefore we look forward to working with the Department of Health and other partners to deliver these enhancements as quickly as possible.”
