My career

Richard Rosenberg

I’m a Chartered Accountant and Senior Partner of SRLV, Chartered Accountants. I qualified in 1980, became a Fellow of the ICAEW in 1990 and was one of the founding partners of SRLV in 1988. We have 19 partners and 131 staff.

I am one of the leading advisors to the UK entertainment sector, and I advise a large variety of other businesses including property and international companies. I’m the Non-Executive Chairman of an AIM listed company and I’m also a Non-Executive Director of a second AIM listed company.

I’m married to Meryl and we have two sons.

My role

When my wife was in remission from cancer I was approached to become a trustee at Teenage Cancer Trust – this was one of the best side effects! I really enjoy being part of a charity where I get to engage with nice people, be it patients, staff, nurses or fellow trustees.

Being involved with Teenage Cancer Trust gives me a warm feeling inside as I have seen at first hand the wonderful work that the charity is doing. As an accountant I hope that my daytime experiences help me engage with the financial aspects of the charity.

Teenage Cancer Trust and me

When I was a teenager I was told to be an accountant like my big brother. I think the best thing about being a teenager was thinking I had no responsibility.

I continually feel humbled at the work of Teenage Cancer Trust, and I have many amazing memories such as cycling many continents and running marathons to fundraise for the charity. It’s a wonderful organisation that does an immense amount of good, due to the combined efforts of its staff and management, the doctors and nurses we work with, the NHS, our supporters, patrons and ambassadors. The trustees are a tiny cog in an amazing wheel.
