Gain an hour, give an hour

On the last Sunday of October every year, the clocks go back, and we gain an extra hour of sleep or however else you wish to use this time. If you normally use your extra hour to sleep in, walk the dog or pop to the gym why not consider something a little bit different this year.

Teenage Cancer Trust are asking you to generously give an hour’s salary to our Gain an Hour, Give an Hour campaign this October. Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. Your support can make sure they get the nursing care and support they need, through their cancer treatment and beyond.

Jordan relapsed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma for the second time in October 2020. She was treated at The Churchill Hospital in Oxford and helped by Beth, the Senior Specialist Nurse for Teenage Cancer Trust.

“Beth, the Senior Specialist Nurse for Teenage Cancer Trust, knew that the treatment would be hard and boring for me and that I’d get lonely without my mum there, so she’d always come and chat to me while I was having my treatment. Having her there helped lift my mood and made the sessions go more quickly.”
