CarFest, the family festival created by radio presenter Chris Evans, is back this summer and it's on a mission to #DoMoreGood.
Tickets are on sale now - get yours, create some fantastic festival memories and help support charities across the UK!
Everyone who attends this year will gain a better understanding of where their money goes and how their support can directly help young people across the UK. You can also expect tons of cool cars, celebrity go-karting, and some famous chefs cooking up an unusual twist. Our honorary patron Roger Daltrey will also be making a very special appearance at CarFest North!
We'll also have plenty of surprises at both CarFest North and South so keep an eye out and make sure to visit the Inspiration Tent in the Eden Zone.
Twenty six year old Lauren Maguire will represent us at CarFest, showcasing how we can support young people with cancer like her. Lauren, from Morecombe in Lancashire, was 25 when she was diagnosed with melanoma after going to her doctor because of a mole on her leg. Through our Nursing and Support programme, Lauren was introduced to Chris, the Clinical Liaison Nurse Specialist, and Caroline, the Youth Support Coordinator. They attended medical appointments with her, helped her with her anxiety and introduced her to other young people with cancer. Lauren said that she didn't know what she would have done without their support - without them, her experience would have been extremely different.
I’m so honoured to be representing Teenage Cancer Trust. Being diagnosed and treated for cancer was one of the most difficult times in my life but having the specialist support and care made a huge difference to me. It’s not just about the medical treatment, I felt that the specialist staff really were understanding and empathetic to every aspect of my care.
CarFest was launched in 2012 and has since raised over £13.5 million. This year, we are one of six charities who will benefit. CarFest North takes place at Bolesworth from 23 to 25 July and CarFest South at Laverstoke Park Farm from 23 to 25 August. The events have been described by the thousands of die-hard fans as ‘the biggest ever village fete’ with a mission to bring the true spirit of family to life. The weekends are packed with activities for all the family, surrounded by great music, celebrity chefs and plenty of cars!
